Open Philanthropy has awarded a grant of USD 1,710,588 to support research into henipavirus antivirals.

Open Philanthropy awarded a grant of $1,710,588 over two years to Evotec to support research to develop small-molecule antivirals against henipaviruses that have pandemic potential, such as the Hendra and Nipah viruses. The project is headed by principal investigator Melissane de Wispelaere, who submitted a proposal to the Pandemic Antiviral Discovery – ‘Henipavirus Request for Proposals’ in 2022.
